Our 2024 campaign has launched!

There’s been a terrible drought, and food costs continue to rise

 

We need your help!

  • We have faced a terrible drought this year. We have never had a year with such little rainfall and food production!

  • Maize meal prices (the staple we use to feed all our kids) have gone up by just over 50%.

  • We have added more children to the program than expected due to the critical need.

  • We provide 5700 meals per week to hungry infants, children, orphans and widows.

  • This year, we need to purchase 3800 bags of corn, an increase from last year’s goal of 3200.

  • Funds must be in place by mid-September to avoid a shortfall that could lead to an emergency.

Short term commitment

  • SAM Ministries currently provides approximately 5700 meals per week to impoverished children, widows, and other malnourished people through our feeding program.

  • SAM Ministries has been taking on these sorts of challenges since 1996.

  • SAM Ministries has over 3 decades of experience working in the context and has an extensive knowledge of how to best meet the needs of the local people.

  • Even in the face of unrest, natural disasters and pandemics, SAM Ministries has continued to serve faithfully and effectively.

*3800 bags of corn is equivalent to the $95,000 needed to keep our feeding program going in the coming year. While much of the food purchased will be corn, there will also be beans, milk, milk formula and supplies for fruit and vegetable production purchased. For tracking purposes, we will use bags of corn.
